Moving from Clockify?

Tally is a time tracker for freelancers and small teams. Here's what it does, what it costs, and how to bring your Clockify history with you from a CSV export.

Tally at a glance

  • Free plan: Up to 5 clients and the last 7 days of history, no time limit
  • Premium: $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year per user, 2-week free trial on yearly
  • Apps: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and the web. Android in a closed beta on Google Play
  • Invoicing: Invoices from your tracked time with a Stripe payment link (Premium)
  • Integrations: Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp, Trello, monday.com, Basecamp, Notion, Todoist and Figma on every plan. GitHub, GitLab, Slack, your calendar and Stripe on Premium
  • Client reports: A private report link your client opens without an account (every plan)
  • Importing: From a Toggl Track, Harvest or Clockify CSV export (every plan)

What Tally does

Private automatic tracking

Tally suggests entries from the work you already did: your Git commits, Figma saves and client meetings. It never watches your screen, records apps or takes screenshots. You check each suggestion and add it in one tap. Premium. How it works →

Time goes back to the ticket

Start a timer on a Jira, Linear, Asana or ClickUp ticket, and the hours post to it when you save. See integrations →

Contracts with makeup hours

Set the hours you owe a client each week or month. A short week carries into the next one until it's made up, and caps warn you at 80% and 100%. Tracking retainer hours →

Report links for clients

A live timesheet of your hours for one client, by day and ticket. Your client needs no account, and you can turn the link off at any time.

Teams on the same plan

Team workspaces, team contracts and timesheet approvals are part of Premium, priced per user. Tally for agencies →

Switching is easy

  1. Export a detailed CSV from your old tracker (how, just below).
  2. Sign up for Tally, then open Integrations → Import time and pick the file.
  3. Check the dates and hours, and match each client to a Tally client or keep its name.
  4. Import. Entries already in Tally are skipped, so importing the same file twice is safe.

The whole walk-through, with what carries over, is on its own page. Switch from Clockify →
