Time Tracking for Jira, Linear and Notion

Updated October 2026

Copying hours into Jira at the end of the week is slow and easy to get wrong. With Tally, you start the timer on the ticket itself, and the time goes back to it when you save.

Jira

Connect Jira in Settings, map each Jira project to a client, and start timers on your tickets from the web, iPhone, Mac or Apple Watch. When you save a session, the hours post to the ticket as a worklog.

Linear

Connect Linear with a personal API key, link your teams to clients, and start timers on your Linear issues. When you save, Tally adds a comment to the issue with the time and your note.

Notion

Pick a Notion task from the databases you've linked to a client and start the timer. Tally sends the time back when you save.

Hours by ticket, for you and your client

Because every session knows its ticket, your reports and client report links can show hours by ticket, not just by day.

Common questions

Does Tally work with Jira on the free plan?
Yes. Jira, Linear and Notion are on every plan, including Free.
How does Tally log time to Jira?
When you save a session that was started on a Jira ticket, Tally posts the hours to that ticket as a Jira worklog.
Can I track time on Jira tickets from my phone?
Yes. You can start timers on your tickets from the web, iPhone, Mac or Apple Watch.
What about work I forgot to time?
If you connect GitHub (on Pro), commits and pull requests with no session show up as untracked work, including any ticket key in the commit message, so you can add the session in one tap.
